Tony Gonzalez is still playing at a high level but has said 2012 will likely be his last in the NFL. The Falcons could groom the Clemson product behind Gonzalez for a year before he eventually steps into a starting role for Atlanta. Allen's stock is slipping a bit as he ran just a 4.89-40 at the combine, but he has the potential to make teams regret passing on him over time. After Gonzalez, the Falcons don't have a starting caliber tight end on their roster so this pick is more for the future than it is next season. They could look to add a speed rusher or an offensive tackle to take some pressure off Matt Ryan but Dwayne Allen is a good value pick late in the second round and will start after Gonzalez calls it quits.
