The Top Ten
Big East Story Lines for 2004 6. The Huskies Can Do It In Football Too! Mere months after possibly the biggest accomplishment in the school’s athletic history, the second biggest may take place. The Connecticut football program will officially find a home in the Big East. Led by Star QB Dan Orlovsky, this team actually has some hope to be competitive. They are coming off a very impressive 9-3 season. UConn’s schedule is far from difficult, aside for a 2 game stretch in which they play Pittsburgh and West Virginia. The difficulty of those games, however, has been diluted by the fact that they ease in with Army and ease out with Temple, with a bye week between them. A tough game down at Georgia Tech will probably be the measuring stick on how well they handle good Division-I teams from around the country. If they play good football, they will approach that border for getting into a bowl game after being cheated last year.
