The Top Ten
Big East Story Lines for 2004 7. Wallace leads the Revolution DJ Williams, Dan Morgan, Jon Vilma, Gerald Hayes, Ben Leber, the list goes on. When you want a high quality Big East LB, where do you look? The Big Time schools, that’s where. But on the eve of the departure of the Big East’s two biggest schools, there arises a new name. Rian Wallace, a relatively unknown player has emerged from the ruins of Temple to become one of the most highly touted defensive players in the country. Going into his junior year, he already has put out one very good, and one dominant year which included 148 tackles. An astonishing 19.5 of them for a loss. Incredible numbers for an underclassmen LB, especially considering he was playing with no quality protection in front of him or help behind him. He has little, if any, physical weaknesses besides an issue with a previous injury that hasn’t gone away. Watch for this young man to not only step up as the best LB in the conference, but possible one of the best in the country; better than any of the Miami or Virginia Tech representatives.
