The Top Ten
Big East Story Lines for 2004 8. Who's in the running for Boston College Despite fielding a powerful team in the Big East, Boston College could be in trouble. Not only did the team lose senior rusher Derrick Knight to the NFL Draft this April, but their 2nd leading rusher graduated as well. In fact, the returning players with the most rushing yards in 2003 are quarterbacks Quinton Porter and Paul Peterson. The replacement situation is even shakier. Right now the team may hand the reigns to untested Jeff Ross, but the answer could lie in a freshman such as A.J. Brooks. Don't rule out star recruit Brian Toal playing the halfback spot in goal line situations. How do you replace 132.4 rushing yards a game? Boston College will find out soon.
