Ryan Mathews: I want to have a successful career in the NFL while having a long career in the league. I want to make a name for myself at the next level and whatever it takes to do that.

Scott Porter: What running back in the NFL most reminds you of yourself?
Ryan Mathews: LaDainian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers because of his style. He runs tough and has great vision.

Scott Porter: What is your favorite memory while playing football at Fresno State?
Ryan Mathews: I would say my favorite memory in general is playing football with all of the friends I made while here. The bonds I made with my teammates was my favorite memory. Making friends with people from all over different states and making friends that will last a lifetime.

Scott Porter: What are you looking forward to most when you get to the NFL?
Ryan Mathews: I am looking forward to being able to continue to play football because I love the game. I have been playing since I was seven years old. I am looking forward to accomplishing my dream that I have had since I was a young kid. I look forward to being in the spotlight as well.

Scott Porter: What type of person is an NFL team getting in you?
Ryan Mathews: They are getting a hard worker who loves the game. I've played the game all of my life and know the game very well. They are getting someone they can count on.

Scott Porter: How would you describe your running style?
Ryan Mathews: I am a physical runner who is a good downhill runner. I can run between the tackles or to the outside. I am very versatile as far as that goes. However a team wants to use me I can be used.

Scott Porter: What hobbies do you have off the field?
Ryan Mathews: I am from a small town so I like riding motorcycles or just doing anything really for the most part. I like to be outside. I am all around a spontaneous type of person.

Scott Porter: What will you be doing from now until draft time to prepare yourself as well as you can for the NFL?
Ryan Mathews: I am working hard to improve my speed and getting my body prepared for the NFL as best as I can. I am just preparing myself as well as I can.

Scott Porter: Who has been your biggest influence?
Ryan Mathews: My mom. She has always been there for me. She worked two jobs to support me throughout my life.

(September 21, GBNReport.com) -- Virginia Tech redshirt sophomore RB Ryan Williams is questionable at best for Saturday’s conference opener against Boston College after he injured a hamstring in last weekend’s win over East Carolina. The injury is not believed to be serious even though Williams had to be helped off the field and spent the second half on crutches, however, he has practiced on a limited basis this week.
