Scott Porter: What are your goals for the upcoming season?
Mario Edwards: To have a very productive year and help my team become back-to-back ACC champs.

Scott Porter: What are your biggest strengths?
Mario Edwards: My biggest strengths are my physical play, football IQ, my range and playmaking abilities.

Scott Porter: You played some cornerback early on in your career before moving to a safety, what has been the biggest difference for you between those two positions?
Mario Edwards: The difference has been the mental aspect, safety requires more thinking.

Scott Porter: What NFL player reminds you of yourself?
Mario Edwards: Kerry Rhodes and Adrian Wilson.

Scott Porter: What are of your game do you feel you need to improve on the most?
Mario Edwards: Just overall man coverage techniques.

Scott Porter: What is the toughest part about playing college football?
Mario Edwards: The daily grind of being an student-athlete.

Scott Porter: Who has been your biggest influence?
Mario Edwards: My parents.

Scott Porter: Who is the toughest player you have ever faced so far?
Mario Edwards: C.J Spiller.

Scott Porter: What are your hobbies off the field?
Mario Edwards: Reading and hanging out with my friends.

Notre Dame junior TE Kyle Rudolph, easily the leading prospect at the position for the 2011 draft, will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn hamstring in Saturday's win over Pittsburgh. Rudolph will require surgery. On the year, the 6-5, 265-pound Rudolph had 28 catches for 328 yards and three TDs.
