Grabbing a top flight pass rusher was thought to be the Jets biggest need this offseason and they failed to address that need. Rex Ryan's crew selected Quinton Coples expecting him to transition to a five-technique defensive end in their 3-4 scheme. Sam Montgomery is a hybrid defensive end-linebacker who can line up with his hand in the dirt or standing up. His explosiveness off the edge would add a dimension to the Jets defense that is currently lacking. Calvin Pace has been decent, but the team needs more than one solid starter at outside linebacker. They may also look at addressing their offensive line and Chris Faulk would be a solid selection here as well.
