5. St. Louis Rams |
Jarvis Jones - OLB

University of Georgia
Apart from surprise standout James Laurinaitis, the Rams don't have much at the linebacker position. If they continue to employ a 4-3 front based on speed and quickness, the Rams will need to find some better playmakers at the outside linebacker position. Jones has a ton of potential to be a big-time playmaker on a defense desperately in need of some. He has a great mix of size and speed to be an ideal fit in a 4-3 scheme. The Rams could also consider looking to the offensive side of the ball and drafting a wide receiver like Keenan Allen to give Sam Bradford the number one receiver he has been lacking since being drafted.

Ricky Wagner - OT
Official School Bio
University of Wisconsin
2009 second overall selection Jason Smith has been a colossal bust and needs to be replaced. The thought was that he would eventually be able to move over to left tackle, but that has not been the case. 2010 draft pick Rodger Saffold has been solid, but is probably better suited at right tackle. The Rams ideally could part with Smith and move Saffold to right tackle so grabbing a let tackle at this selection would be a smart idea and Ricky Wagner fits the bill. Continuing the long lineage of hard working Wisconsin linemen, Wagner, a former walk-on, is a great pass protector and is exactly what the Rams will be looking for with this pick.
