Matt Reynolds Scouting Report
Matt Reynolds
Matt Reynolds - BYU (HT: 6-6 - WT: 327)
Combine 40: N/A - Pro Day 40: N/A - Position Rank: 4 of 10

Positives: Mature, spent two years on a church mission... Solid athlete... Good strength... Solid pass protector... Ideal size and reasonably long arms... Uses his hands well... Reasonably good agility... Good lateral movement and slide... Very solid blocking range... Redirects well... Possesses a good anchor and handles bullrushers well... Explosive, good initial burst, fires out of his stance... Good hand punch, can knock defenders back on their heels... Strong hands, controls and steers defenders once locker on... Can turn defender from the action, seals off the inside well... Good run blocker... Flashes good power at POA... Does a nice job drive blocking, plays with very solid leverage... Can get to the second level... Take good angles... Reasonably good flexibility and body control... Breaks down reasonably well and can generally hit moving targets... Physical, good mental and physical toughness, will play hurt.

Negatives: Can be a bit of a leaner on the move... Doesn't explode into second level blocks but rather just pushes through them... Can be beat by speed... Lateral movement and backpedal gets hurried and awkward versus speed rushers... Inconsistent kick slide, initial kick step can get too wide... Can struggle with quick inside countermoves... Struggles staying in front of quicker pass rushers, lacks the footwork of a blindside Tackle... Best fit is probably at Right Tackle, similar to Cowboy RT Marc Columbo.
