Andre Ellington - Clemson (HT: 5-10 - WT: 190)
Combine 40: N/A - Pro Day 40: N/A - Position Rank: 5 of 5
Positives: Extremely fast, has instant acceleration, really gets up field in a hurry... Can go the distance anytime he touches the football... Elusive in the open field... Improving as a runner between the tackles, does a good job fighting through arm tackles... Great vision, one of the better cut-back runners in this class... Clemson has put James Davis and C.J. Spiller into the NFL over the past two years... Has flourished since he's been given the opportunity to start with Spiller now gone... Returns kickoffs and can be a dynamic special teams player in the pros... High upside with his explosion and big play ability... Great athlete, has a 35.5" vertical leap.
Negatives: Small for an NFL running back... Not a great receiver, hands are very inconsistent... Has suffered a couple lingering injuries this season, causing him to miss three games... Doesn't drive his legs well, can be pushed backwards... Lacks power when he's running, gets drug down far too easily...Will be asked to split the backfield with standout freshman Mike Bellamy... Raw in pass coverage, tears at jerseys, needs to be coached on technique.
